PROJECT TECHNICAL CONCEPT-SATNA UNIT

Plant Location
The plant is proposed to be located, in the Village, Birhauli in Tehsil RaghuRaj Nagar of Satna District, Madhya Pradesh.
It is located at about 8 kms from Satna town and the nearest railway station is around 12 km away.

Infrastructure
Land
The land required for the Clinkerisation Plant is approx. 235 acres.

Road Network
Plant is located at about 8 kms from Satna town and the nearest railway station is around
12 km away.


Power
The maximum estimated power demand for the plant is 14 MW.

It is proposed to meet the power requirement from grid. or any other source, a D.G. set of 5 MW
shall be installed to meet the power demand during stoppage / power tripping


Water
Total water requirement is expected to be around 1725 m3/day.

Social Amenities
There is a need for developing a full-fledged township near the plant. Thus, township having
essential facilities for key plant technical personnel / visitors shall be developed near the plant site.

Environmental Aspects
The mines area and the proposed plant site are environmentally sensitive. A
comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study has been carried out
accordingly, and requisite Environment Management Plan (EMP) is prepared,
based on EIA study.


Raw Materials and Fuel
The Raw Material required for producing Cement is:

Limestone
Limestone Requirement – 1.67 mio tpa
The limestone required from mines for producing clinker shall be sourced from Ispat
Limestone Quarry (ILQ) adjoining to plant site.


The limestone shall be transported by dumpers from mines to Plant.

Laterite
Laterite requirement – 0.07 mio tpa
Laterite shall be sourced from Katni or other near by areas.

Coal
Coal Requirement - 0.18 mio tpa
Coal is proposed to be sourced from Central Coal fields.

Technical Concept
Plant Capacity : 1.09 mio t/a
Logistics : By Rail / trucks
Manufacturing Process : Calcination by state of the art 6-stage preheater/ pre- calciner kiln, producing low N0x and SOx

All grinding processes by energy efficient vertical roller mills.

Pollution control by Bag filters.

Power Demand : 14 MW
Specific Heat of Consumption : 700 Kcal/Kg of Clinker
Specific Power consumption as per run : Around 55 kWh/t for Clinkerisation
Water Requirement : Around 1725 M3/day
Process Control :
Distributed control system comprising of micro-processor based controls and field instrumentation. Plant operation shall be controlled from central control room.

: Bag Dust collectors (emission below 50 mg/Nm3)
Environmental Aspects

Environmental considerations and protection measures assume greater importance for the project. BJCL shall ensure that the proposed plant causes no adverse impact on the area.

The proposed project is planned to meet all environmental norms and further improve the environs in the area. BJCL propose to use State of Art Technology with computer controls to ensure high efficiency in plant operations. This would result in low per unit energy consumption and low particulate emissions.


Environmental clearance from MOEF, Govt of India has been granted letter dated July 21, 2009.
