PREAMBLE-Bhilai Unit

Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) is putting-up a cement project (Project : ISPAT CEMENT) in joint venture with SAIL, with a clinkerization Unit at Satna, Madhya Prdesh and Split Grinding unit at Bhilai, Chhattisgarh,which is likely to be commissioned by Dec 2009. The company so formed is Bhilai Jaypee Cement Limited. Grinding unit at Bhilai is named as ‘Bhilai Jaypee Grinding Plant.

JAL is proposing to set-up around 2.2 Million Ton per Annum Cement Plant, at Bhilai (Chattisgarh), to manufacture Portland Slag Cement (PSC), by utilising slag from Bhilai Steel Plant (SAIL) adjoining it.

Hot gases required for mill operation shall be produced using a Coal Combustor.

The clinker produced at Satna Clinkerization Unit shall be utilised for producing PSC at Bhilai.
